RESEARCH - Favourite film titles

MEN IN BLACK

One of my favourite movies since childhood is ‘Men in Black’. The titles for this film were designed by Pablo Ferro. In the opening scene the plot is not being set up, the camera is following digitally created dragonfly while the credits are being shown in front of it. The whole action takes place at night time, so the main content that catches my attention is the starry black sky. This is a good use of background as the white titles on them are clear and easy to read. The titles are integrated into the sequence because as I mentioned before the camera starts following dragonfly until it crushes into the car’s front window which leads to the first movie scene, this makes the sequence narrative. Also, the soundtrack of this movie creates mystical feeling, but at the same time instruments makes it sound positively. It is easy to guess that the genre of this movie is going to be mystical, fiction or comedy.
